Para mitigar los riesgos, el Servicio Meteorol\u00f3gico Nacional (<b>NWS<\/b>, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s)<b> public\u00f3 una lista de medidas y consejos<\/b>. <\/p>\n<h1>C\u00f3mo prepararse para la tormenta invernal en EE.UU.<\/h1>\n<p>La <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/safety\/cold-before\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer\" title=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/safety\/cold-before\"><b>agencia meteorol\u00f3gica<\/b><\/a> difundi\u00f3 una serie de recomendaciones vinculadas a la <b>vestimenta<\/b>, la <b>preparaci\u00f3n del hogar<\/b> y el <b>cuidado de los animales<\/b>. En cuanto al primer punto, aconseja:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Usar<b> capas de ropa ligera, c\u00e1lida y holgada,<\/b> junto con un gorro.<\/li>\n<li><b>Prefiera las manoplas sobre los guantes<\/b>, ya que <b>mantienen mejor el calor<\/b> al estar ajustadas en la mu\u00f1eca.<\/li>\n<li>Cubrir su boca para <b>proteger los pulmones del aire g\u00e9lido<\/b> y tratar de mantenerse fuera del alcance del viento. <\/li>\n<li>Evitar estar al aire libre durante la parte m\u00e1s fr\u00eda del d\u00eda, <b>usualmente la madrugada<\/b>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/resizer.glanacion.com\/resizer\/v2\/52CZTCTYAJF4RIUDY2HNBGMWNM.jpg?auth=b12b7c8258cb6baebd2eb0bab75e6a0619752364e20ea61ac910dbb59c1d6814&amp;smart=true&amp;width=2000&amp;height=1333\" alt=\"El NWS recomienda que las personas cubran su boca para protegerse del fr\u00edo y no salgan durante la parte m\u00e1s helada del d\u00eda\" height=\"1333\" width=\"2000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Con relaci\u00f3n a la preparaci\u00f3n del hogar, se tienen que proteger las tuber\u00edas. Para ello, <b>hay que dejar que los grifos goteen un poco para evitar que se congelen. <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No se debe <b>usar un generador dentro de la casa <\/b>o el garaje para<b> evitar la intoxicaci\u00f3n por mon\u00f3xido de carbono<\/b>. Se debe mantener al menos a 6 metros de distancia. <\/li>\n<li>Tener a mano una <b>bolsa con bater\u00edas, comida no perecedera, agua (un gal\u00f3n por persona al d\u00eda)<\/b>, linternas y una radio a pilas en caso de posibles apagones. <\/li>\n<li>Almacenar sal de roca para <b>derretir la nieve y el hielo de las aceras.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Seguridad de veh\u00edculo y kit de supervivencia durante la tormenta<\/h1>\n<p>El <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/estados-unidos\/california\/que-se-espera-en-california-ante-la-alerta-por-ola-de-frio-polar-y-tormenta-invernal-con-nevadas-en-nid22012026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer\" title=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/estados-unidos\/california\/que-se-espera-en-california-ante-la-alerta-por-ola-de-frio-polar-y-tormenta-invernal-con-nevadas-en-nid22012026\/\"><b>NWS<\/b><\/a> les advirti\u00f3 a los usuarios que<b> no deben viajar durante la tormenta <\/b>a menos que sea una emergencia. En caso de hacerlo, el veh\u00edculo tiene que contar con un <b>kit de supervivencia<\/b> que incluya: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cables de arranque.<\/li>\n<li>Rascador de hielo.<\/li>\n<li>Pala.<\/li>\n<li>Mantas o sacos de dormir.<\/li>\n<li>Cargador de celular.<\/li>\n<li>Arena para tracci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/resizer.glanacion.com\/resizer\/v2\/KK4COE7Q4JD7ZMZRND6KOYOYSQ.jpg?auth=8c1914735d30f319f0a898d4dafb11995093b055c099c9a73af3d49282228e04&amp;smart=true&amp;width=2000&amp;height=1333\" alt=\"Se recomienda no viajar en auto durante una tormenta invernal \" height=\"1333\" width=\"2000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Durante el trayecto,<b> se debe reducir la velocidad<\/b>, <b>encender las luces intermitentes<\/b> y evitar <b>frenar de manera brusca<\/b> si se presenta una r\u00e1faga de nieve.<\/p>\n<h1>C\u00f3mo siguen las temperaturas en Estados Unidos <\/h1>\n<p>Estados Unidos atraviesa una situaci\u00f3n cr\u00edtica con el avance de una<b> masa de aire \u00e1rtico <\/b>que se extender\u00e1 desde Texas hasta el noroeste del pa\u00eds. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>En <b>Texas, Oklahoma y Arkansas<\/b>, la tormenta iniciar\u00e1 el viernes 23 de enero en esta zona <b>con fuertes nevadas y lluvia helada que dificultar\u00e1n el tr\u00e1nsito.<\/b> <\/li>\n<li>Se esperan acumulaciones de nieve de hasta 35 cm en Oklahoma City y 25 cm en Amarillo, Texas. Adem\u00e1s, Dallas podr\u00eda pasar m\u00e1s de <b>48 horas consecutivas bajo cero. <\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Medio Oeste y Grandes Llanuras:<\/b> Se expande un aire \u00e1rtico fr\u00edo que
