Los impulsores de la medida sostienen que casi la mitad de la fuerza laboral del pa\u00eds gana menos de <b>US$25 por hora<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h1>Qu\u00e9 cambios propone la ley para trabajadores con propinas y otros grupos<\/h1>\n<p>Uno de los aspectos m\u00e1s relevantes de la propuesta es la eliminaci\u00f3n gradual del denominado <b>\u201ccr\u00e9dito por propinas\u201d<\/b>, un sistema que actualmente permite que determinados empleadores computen parte de las gratificaciones recibidas por los trabajadores como parte de su remuneraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Si la iniciativa prospera, los empleadores deber\u00e1n pagar el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/estados-unidos\/california\/san-francisco-y-alameda-suben-el-salario-minimo-de-cuanto-sera-desde-el-1-de-julio-de-2026-nid23062026\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/estados-unidos\/california\/san-francisco-y-alameda-suben-el-salario-minimo-de-cuanto-sera-desde-el-1-de-julio-de-2026-nid23062026\/\"><b>salario m\u00ednimo completo<\/b><\/a>, mientras que los empleados conservar\u00e1n \u00edntegramente las propinas que reciban. La propuesta tambi\u00e9n contempla modificaciones para otros grupos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Trabajadores menores de 20 a\u00f1os<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Personas con discapacidades<\/b> incluidas en programas especiales que permiten salarios inferiores al m\u00ednimo general.<\/li>\n<li>Empleados alcanzados por excepciones salariales contempladas en la legislaci\u00f3n federal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/resizer.glanacion.com\/resizer\/v2\/V4YFLS5CMZG3XIXYFS2BX4XOVA.jpg?auth=75a3e19db145c55cef1441d836c030a5ba20535e00929b13394f8d615144da0b&amp;smart=true&amp;width=2000&amp;height=1333\" alt=\"Cu\u00e1nto aumentar\u00e1 el salario m\u00ednimo en EE.UU.\" height=\"1333\" width=\"2000\" \/><\/p>\n<h1>En qu\u00e9 estados de EE.UU. tendr\u00eda un mayor impacto<\/h1>\n<p>El efecto ser\u00eda m\u00e1s visible en los estados que mantienen el <b>salario m\u00ednimo federal de US$7,25 por hora<\/b> o montos cercanos. Por esa raz\u00f3n, los trabajadores de estados como <b>Texas<\/b>, <b>Georgia<\/b>, <b>Alabama<\/b>, <b>Mississippi<\/b>, <b>Louisiana<\/b> y <b>Tennessee<\/b> podr\u00edan experimentar aumentos m\u00e1s significativos que quienes residen en jurisdicciones con sueldos m\u00ednimos m\u00e1s elevados.<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente, seg\u00fan datos del <b>Departamento de Trabajo de Estados Unidos (<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dol.gov\/agencies\/whd\/mw-consolidated\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dol.gov\/agencies\/whd\/mw-consolidated\"><b>DOL<\/b><\/a><b>, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s)<\/b>, algunas de las jurisdicciones con los salarios m\u00ednimos m\u00e1s altos son:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Washington:<\/b> US$17,13 por hora.<\/li>\n<li><b>Nueva York:<\/b> hasta US$17 por hora.<\/li>\n<li><b>Connecticut:<\/b> US$16,94 por hora.<\/li>\n<li><b>California:<\/b> US$16,90 por hora.<\/li>\n<li><b>Haw\u00e1i:<\/b> US$16 por hora.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>C\u00f3mo aumentar\u00eda el salario m\u00ednimo federal seg\u00fan el proyecto<\/h1>\n<p>La propuesta no contempla una suba inmediata hasta los <b>US$25 por hora<\/b>, sino un proceso gradual. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Durante el primer a\u00f1o, el salario m\u00ednimo federal pasar\u00eda de <b>US$7,25 a US$12 por hora<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Las grandes corporaciones tendr\u00edan hasta seis a\u00f1os para alcanzar los <b>US$25 por hora<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Los peque\u00f1os negocios dispondr\u00edan de un plazo de 13 a\u00f1os para llegar a esa cifra.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>El proyecto define como grandes empresas a aquellas con ingresos brutos de al menos <b>US$1000 millones<\/b> o con m\u00e1s de <b>500 empleados<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/resizer.glanacion.com\/resizer\/v2\/GG4YAPC3EJEVRBE6JAUNDG7FNU.png?auth=ff854022337485bc419f036b025587401bddb39c8a07121c00384b7061e63c27&amp;smart=true&amp;width=2000&amp;height=1333\" alt=\"La propuesta no contempla una suba inmediata hasta los US$25 por hora, sino un proceso gradual\" height=\"1333\" width=\"2000\" \/><\/p>\n<h1>Cu\u00e1ndo se votar\u00e1 el proyecto para subir el salario m\u00ednimo federal<\/h1>\n<p>Por el momento, <b>no existe una fecha definida para la votaci\u00f3n de la iniciativa<\/b>. La propuesta fue presentada el <b>25 de junio<\/b> en el Senado por Chris Murphy y la versi\u00f3n de la C\u00e1mara de Representantes, identificada como <b>H.R. 8555<\/b>, fue remitida el <b>28 de abril de 2026<\/b> al Comit\u00e9 de Educaci\u00f3n y Fuerza Laboral para su an\u00e1lisis. Antes de llegar al pleno de ambas c\u00e1maras, los proyectos deber\u00e1n superar distintas etapas legislativas, lo que incluye el tratamiento en comisi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bConoce qu\u00e9 empleos
