Soluciones que pueden ser un problema y qu\u00e9 sirve realmente"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarin.com\/img\/2026\/05\/08\/SziNSe2A9_2000x1500__1.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" \/><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Seg\u00fan un nuevo informe\u00a0de los Centros para el Control y la Prevenci\u00f3n de Enfermedades (CDC, por su sigla en ingl\u00e9s), uno de cada ocho adultos estadounidenses toma regularmente alg\u00fan tipo de somn\u00edfero, como <strong>un suplemento o un medicamento de venta libre<\/strong>, para conciliar o mantener el sue\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Sujay Kansagra, especialista del sue\u00f1o del Centro M\u00e9dico de la Universidad de Duke, afirm\u00f3 que los hallazgos sugieren que muchas personas intentan mejorar su sue\u00f1o mediante trucos o atajos, y esperan que un suplemento como la melatonina o el magnesio sea \u201cuna p\u00edldora m\u00e1gica\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>En cambio, a\u00f1adi\u00f3, lo que deber\u00edan hacer es trabajar con un m\u00e9dico para<strong> tratar la causa ra\u00edz de sus problemas de sue\u00f1o<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Los problemas de sue\u00f1o son frecuentes:\u00a0otro informe\u00a0publicado esta semana por los CDC descubri\u00f3 que casi un tercio de los adultos <strong>no dorm\u00edan el m\u00ednimo de siete horas por noche<\/strong> que recomiendan los m\u00e9dicos. En ambos informes se analizaron las respuestas a una encuesta realizada a decenas de miles de adultos estadounidenses en 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Los nuevos datos mostraron que las mujeres eran significativamente m\u00e1s propensas que los hombres a tener problemas para conciliar el sue\u00f1o y tambi\u00e9n m\u00e1s propensas a tomar algo como ayuda para lograrlo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Los <strong>medicamentos o suplementos de venta libre<\/strong> (alrededor del 6 por ciento) fueron los m\u00e1s utilizados, seguidos de los <strong>medicamentos con receta<\/strong> (m\u00e1s del 5 por ciento) y <strong>el CBD o cannabis<\/strong> (alrededor del 4 por ciento).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>El informe descubri\u00f3 que el consumo de somn\u00edferos con o sin receta <strong>aumentaba con la edad<\/strong>. Pero lo contrario ocurr\u00eda con los productos de marihuana o CBD: alrededor del 6 por ciento de los adultos de 18 a 34 a\u00f1os los utilizaban para dormir, frente a solo el 2 por ciento de los mayores de 65 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>La popularidad de los suplementos refleja lo que Kansagra y sus colegas observaron en la cl\u00ednica. Dijo que sus pacientes tomaban principalmente melatonina y<strong> cada vez se interesaban m\u00e1s por el magnesio<\/strong>, que a menudo se exagera en las redes sociales y es promocionado por influencers de la salud.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Hay <strong>pocas pruebas <\/strong>de que el magnesio, que suele venderse como glicinato de magnesio o treonato de magnesio, ayude a conciliar el sue\u00f1o. Puede ser \u00fatil para quien tiene problemas para dormir debido a la tensi\u00f3n muscular, los calambres o el s\u00edndrome de las piernas inquietas, dijo Ana Krieger, directora m\u00e9dica del Centro de Medicina del Sue\u00f1o de Weill Cornell Medicine y NewYork-Presbyterian. Algunas investigaciones sugieren que\u00a0tomar melatonina\u00a0puede ayudar a conciliar el sue\u00f1o varios minutos antes, pero no funciona para todo el mundo y en otros estudios no ha dado mejores resultados que un placebo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Kansagra dijo que la mayor\u00eda de sus pacientes utilizaban suplementos en lugar de somn\u00edferos de venta libre, que suelen estar fabricados con antihistam\u00ednicos. Aunque pueden ayudar a algunas personas a conciliar el sue\u00f1o, dijo, <strong>suelen dejarlas aturdidas al d\u00eda siguiente<\/strong>.
