La normativa aplica en una primera instancia solo para nuevos tr\u00e1mites y <b>comienza a regir el 5 de marzo<\/b>. El estado aclara cu\u00e1les son los documentos aceptados.<\/p>\n<h1>Desde el 5 de marzo, migrantes de Texas sin estatus legal no podr\u00e1n registrar un veh\u00edculo ante el DMV<\/h1>\n<p>La normativa se hab\u00eda conocido originalmente en una gu\u00eda a fines de 2025. Entre los <b>cambios sobre las identificaciones<\/b>, se incluy\u00f3 una <b>prueba de presencia legal en EE.UU.<\/b>, ya sea la ciudadan\u00eda u otras variantes de documentaci\u00f3n para extranjeros.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/resizer.glanacion.com\/resizer\/v2\/7F4GN53TCJCK3BXWRVGSAKVBB4.jpg?auth=46faff80b9ebf781825e4faa582971b1dbaf0fa0ebc6a0417586dae11b7d6a21&amp;smart=true&amp;width=2000&amp;height=1333\" alt=\"Conductores de Texas ahora enfrentan nuevas reglas para registrar un veh\u00edculo ante el DMV\" height=\"1333\" width=\"2000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de cu\u00e1ndo se hizo p\u00fablica originalmente, <b>el DMV aprob\u00f3 de manera un\u00e1nime su aplicaci\u00f3n durante una votaci\u00f3n<\/b> en febrero 2026, seg\u00fan consign\u00f3 <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/5738300-texans-must-prove-legal-status-to-register-vehicles-after-new-dmv-rule\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/5738300-texans-must-prove-legal-status-to-register-vehicles-after-new-dmv-rule\/\"><i>The Hill<\/i><\/a>. A partir de las nuevas normas, se establecen <b>estos requisitos para <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/estados-unidos\/texas\/confirmado-por-el-dmv-malas-noticias-en-texas-para-los-migrantes-indocumentados-que-quieren-comprar-nid20022026\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/estados-unidos\/texas\/confirmado-por-el-dmv-malas-noticias-en-texas-para-los-migrantes-indocumentados-que-quieren-comprar-nid20022026\/\"><b>registrar un veh\u00edculo<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mostrar una <b>identificaci\u00f3n aceptable<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Tener un <b>seguro de responsabilidad civil<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Llenar el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.txdmv.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/form_files\/130-U.pdf\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.txdmv.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/form_files\/130-U.pdf\"><b>formulario 130-U<\/b><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Acreditar la propiedad del veh\u00edculo a trav\u00e9s del t\u00edtulo correspondiente<\/b>, sea emitido en Texas u otro estado.<\/li>\n<li><b>Presentar un comprobante de domicilio<\/b> que acredite la residencia en el Estado de la Estrella Solitaria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dentro de la exigencia de la identificaci\u00f3n aceptable, se incluyen <b>documentos que acrediten presencia legal<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h1>Cu\u00e1les son los documentos que se deben presentar para registrar un veh\u00edculo en Texas<\/h1>\n<p>M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las normas generales, el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/estados-unidos\/texas\/dmv-en-texas-la-regla-que-permite-solicitar-licencias-de-conducir-a-migrantes-con-asilo-pendiente-en-nid20022026\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/estados-unidos\/texas\/dmv-en-texas-la-regla-que-permite-solicitar-licencias-de-conducir-a-migrantes-con-asilo-pendiente-en-nid20022026\/\">DMV<\/a> public\u00f3 espec\u00edficamente cu\u00e1les son las <b>variantes de identificaci\u00f3n aceptadas<\/b> en este proceso. Lo hizo a trav\u00e9s del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.txdmv.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/body-files\/RTB_001-26_ID_Requirements_for_Vehicle_Registration_Transaction.pdf\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.txdmv.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/body-files\/RTB_001-26_ID_Requirements_for_Vehicle_Registration_Transaction.pdf\">Title Bulletin 001-26<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/resizer.glanacion.com\/resizer\/v2\/5MSD45UC6BHDTGT2357UCGIE7M.jpg?auth=96fb0f3a2d73231166db3735d27546dbd5c092d6edee1951587c1acb87894e1f&amp;smart=true&amp;width=2000&amp;height=1333\" alt=\"Desde marzo, los conductores de Texas deben presentar una prueba de presencia legal ante el DMV para registrar un veh\u00edculo\" height=\"1333\" width=\"2000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan las normas, <b>los requisitos para el registro est\u00e1ndar de un veh\u00edculo caen dentro de la lista A<\/b>. Estas son las opciones:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Licencia de conducir REAL ID.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Licencia de conducir que no sea REAL ID, pero emitida por un estado que solicite prueba de presencia legal<\/b> para otorgarla, como Texas o Florida.<\/li>\n<li><b>Pasaporte estadounidense<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Licencia no REAL ID<\/b> de un estado que no requiera presencia legal, acompa\u00f1ada de un <b>certificado de nacimiento en EE.UU. o certificado de naturalizaci\u00f3n<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Pasaporte extranjero<\/b> acompa\u00f1ado del <b>Formulario I-94, green card o una visa de inmigrante<\/b> v\u00e1lida.<\/li>\n<li><b>Licencia de portaci\u00f3n de armas<\/b> de Texas v\u00e1lida.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>De esta manera, con el requisito de presencia legal, el Estado de la Estrella Solitaria <b>cierra la puerta a que extranjeros indocumentados puedan registrar su veh\u00edculo<\/b>.<\/p>\n<figure><video height=\"720\" width=\"1280\" poster=\"https:\/\/cdn.jwplayer.com\/v2\/media\/WPhHs9ri\/poster.jpg?width=1280\" preload=\"none\"><\/video><figcaption>Requisito de inspecci\u00f3n de seguridad del DMV: ya no rige para veh\u00edculos no comerciales<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h1>Durante 2026, las nuevas normas del DMV de Texas aplicar\u00e1n solamente a nuevos registros<\/h1>\n<p>Seg\u00fan indica la autoridad en el mencionado documento, <b>el 5 de marzo comenzar\u00e1 a regir la regla, pero solamente para nuevos veh\u00edculos<\/b>. Esa norma se mantendr\u00e1 durante todo 2026.<\/p>\n<p>A lo largo del a\u00f1o, las renovaciones de registros se regir\u00e1n por las normas anteriores y todav\u00eda no se aplicar\u00e1 la nueva gu\u00eda. <b>Eso cambiar\u00e1 el pr\u00f3ximo 1\u00b0 de enero<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>A partir del 2027, la vigencia de la norma se ampliar\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n a renovaciones<\/b>, por lo que todos los <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/estados-unidos\/texas\/autos-out-of-state-en-texas-como-es-la-inspeccion-del-dmv-que-se-aplica-para-quienes-llegan-al-nid20022026\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.lanacion.com.ar\/estados-unidos\/texas\/autos-out-of-state-en-texas-como-es-la-inspeccion-del-dmv-que-se-aplica-para-quienes-llegan-al-nid20022026\/\">conductores de Texas<\/a> estar\u00e1n regidos por estas reglas. <\/p>\n<p>Desde esa fecha, quienes no cuenten con un documento que acredite su estad\u00eda legal en EE.UU. <b>no podr\u00e1n registrar por primera vez ni renovar <\/b>la documentaci\u00f3n de su veh\u00edculo.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bA partir del 5 de marzo, el DMV de Texas aplicar\u00e1 una nueva serie de requisitos para el registro de un veh\u00edculo; conoce
